Sen. Graham Is Giving Away His Money

For a great cause I might add…
Anyone who doubts that Lindsey Graham does what he thinks is right and then lets the chips fall where they may needs to read this blog entry by Dan Hoover.

Politicians, no matter if they are Republican or Democrat, love campaign cash and hate to part with any of it. They are forced to spend numerous hours on the phone and attend countless events to build a campaign war chest. For most candidates, asking for money is the hardest, most humiliating and dreaded part of a campaign. So once they get the dough, the last thing they usually ever want to do is give some of it away — particularly when they are in the middle of their own election.

But that’s exactly what Lindsey Graham, in an incredibly selfless act to help the Republican team and his colleagues in the Senate, is doing. He’s going to donate over $260,000 from his own campaign to the National Republican Senatorial Committee to help in critical races all over the country.

This is on top of the $100,000 he’s given already from his Leadership PAC to Senators like Jeff Sessions of Alabama, Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina, and two of the most endangered Republicans incumbents – John Sununu of New Hampshire and Norm Coleman in Minnesota.

Republican Senate challengers like John Kennedy in Louisiana, who is taking on Mary Landrieu in one of the few GOP pickup opportunities, have also received donations.

We also recall that the South Carolina Republican Party got a share of the proceeds from the November fundraiser Senator Graham hosted with President Bush in Columbia, and the NRSC got a cut of the pie from a Graham fundraiser in Washington last year with Vice President Cheney.

When it comes to building the Republican Party here in South Carolina and across the nation, Lindsey Graham is putting his money where his mouth is.

I want to challenge all you to join Sen. Graham by making a small contribution to the NRSC’s “Two Seats” program. The SCGOP will most likely hold on to all of it’s U.S. House and Senate seats this, but we could still lose more Republican seats this cycle in Congress. Please help these candidates by making a donation to other candidates across the nation.
