Mark Sanford will be the Vice Presidential candidate in 2008? That’s what a couple of the boys over at Redstate think. Check it out.
We give the Governor a hard time, but we love this idea for one big reason - GOVERNOR ANDRE BAUER!
Now that would be fun to watch, and blog about.

There are two Sanford cabinet agencies under investigation, and the heat is being turned up on his 6 nonprofits that collect millions of dollars in secret donations. He is about to go into another disastrous session of the General Assembly, where he will undoubtedly have his ass handed to him at least a 100 times.
The farther a member of the press is away from SC, the better Mark Sanford looks. This is not by accident…Sanford is spending those millions he has stored away on courting the media, and think tanks all over the US. Another scandal that the public is unaware of is just how often Sanford is out of state…often at state expense…to promote himself.
But I think when the time is near the national press will not be kind to Sanford. His record of failure will be difficult to sell to a liberal press. He can bamboozle our sleepy, lazy press corps here…but the national corps is a different beast all together.
I was told that Sanford told Will Folks to get off his ass about the VP thing, because he really wants to be veep. Of course, he has no real record to run on, so that would probably discourage some candidates.
I’m sure there are other GOP governors out there that have actually accomplished innovative things, and those guys (or women) would probably be higher on the list.
I think both of you guys are correct.
Sanford has done a fantastic job of pushing Sanford…but the rest of us took it in the bum. He has the record of someone that is not interested in the average citizen of SC.
I can never feel good about Sanford until he discloses why he has received millions in out of state bucks. The donor’s identity will tell all…but I think they will be protected at all cost. They don’t want the donors Googled, and cross checked against business interest in SC. No…that would not be a good thing for Mark Sanford at all.
But how the hell does he talk about transparency in one speech, and then go raise millions of dollars in secret in the same afternoon? I wish I had that gig…I need a couple of extra million to play with.
Governor Sanford has turned his head to disabled people and their needs. He and his staff obviously approve and endorse disability discrimination. Discrimination is not very VP-like.
