Past cheers come back to bite us

Junior gets no help from Hendrick teammates
For years we have been jumping on our couch and cheering at the top of our lungs every time Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon hit a wall or blow an engine. Unfortunately, it happened to our boy Junior far more than it happened to Johnson and Gordon as team Hendrick ruled the track for the last few years. We admit that we were pretty pissed off when Junior joined Hendrick, but we thought, hell, at least Junior will be with a winning team. And seeing the way Johnson and Gordon always work together, Junior will be receiving some All Star help pushing him to Victory Lane.
Well, that didn’t happen yesterday and Johnson, Gordon, and Sorenson all had bad days. Gordon had engine problems and Johnson and Sorenson both wrecked. Junior finished ninth while teammates Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch finished first and second respectively.
SUCKS!
On the bright side, Junior didn’t blow an engine, which was the problem plaguing his DEI cars in 2007. Maybe we can look forward to a good year after all. Oh, and the new green 88 isn’t as ugly as we first thought. Its not as easy to find as the red 8 and not as pretty, but it does look good on the rack.

I thought the 4th Hendrick driver was Casey Mears, not Sorenson…
Junior looked pretty good yesterday, but I’m still a little surprised Kyle Busch didn’t pull it off - looked like he had the stronger car all day long.

Absolutely right. It is Mears.
Dont know why we said Sorenson, except that maybe its because we were bitching yesterday because there are very few southern drivers left and Sorenson is one of them. Good Georgia boy.

I like Junior in the fact that he is expected to be invincible but knows that he is not.
I hope he does not turn out to be an elitist like most of the Hendrick team I have crossed paths with.
I don’t think Junior will ever fit in at HMS.
That is a good thing !
