Mitt Romney’s South Carolina Campaign is on Fire (Literally)

Mitt Romney’s S.C. campaign headquarters nearly caught on fire today. And we’re not speaking metaphorically either. The building had to be evacuated due to fire on the headquarters’ premises, and the Columbia Fire Department was called to the scene. While the cause of the fire was initially believed to be Romney’s rapid rise in the South Carolina polls, it now appears the source of the blaze actually stemmed from an overheated car parked next to the building. Romney supporters should not fret over this incident because operations in the building have already resumed.

(UPDATE) We have learned that the cause of the fire was a “tricked out” car in a parking space directly beside the campaign office. At first it was thought that Rob Yerger’s neon under-car lights caught fire, but we then learned that Yerger got rid of his lights a few years back.
