One of the most coveted speaking engagements for any rising politician is the S.C. Republican Party’s Silver Elephant Dinner. This year Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) has secured the opportunity to address over 1,000 of South Carolina’s top donors and political activists.
A Columbus, Indiana, native, Congressman Pence was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2000 to represent Indiana’s sixth congressional district. Congressman Pence has emerged as a national spokesman for conservative principles. During the 109th Congress, Congressman Pence served as Chairman of the House Republican Study Committee. The Republican Study Committee is the largest caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives and under Congressman Pence’s leadership was the leading voice for advancing conservative social and economic issues in Congress.
Rep. Pence is certainly a rising star in the Republican Party, and this move could possibly be a first step in a future presidential run. Pence is already using Lexington based Starboard Communications for direct mail despite being located in Indiana, and this speaking engagement will allow him to further extend his South Carolina political connections in our critical primary state that has correctly picked every Republican nominee since Ronald Reagan in 1980.
Regardless of Congressman Pence’s intentions, his conservative credentials make him an excellent keynote speaker for this event that I’m very much looking forward to attending on May 30th.

Pence is a rock star within conservative circles. His name has been mentioned as potential VP material. This should be a terrific event.

I fully agree with you. Only if there were more people like him in Congress…
If he cancels, I’m available.
