Mark Sanford one of most influential conservatives in the nation
The Daily Telegraph (UK) has compiled a list of the 100 most influential conservatives and liberals in the United States and Mark Sanford made the list at 91 topping people such as Michelle Malkin, Oliver North, Henry Kissinger, and General Peter Pace.
91. MARK SANFORD
Governor of South CarolinaPotential is limitless for this 47-year-old former congressman who is a staunch Conservative with a Libertarian streak. Opposed “pork barrel” spending even when it benefited his own district and adhered to a self-imposed term limit in Congress.
Supported John McCain in 2000 but has not declared for a candidate this time. His endorsement in a key Southern state is political gold dust and he would be an attractive vice-presidential running mate for Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney.

I’m a huge fan of Mark Sanford. I think he’s been the best thing for South Carolina we’ve seen in a long time. But, given his contentious relationship with both chambers of the State House (their fault, in my opinion), I’m not sure I would rank him as one of the most influential conservatives in America. And while a Sanford VP bid would be great, it isn’t worth a Romney or Giuliani presidency if those are the only two candidates for whom he is a good match.

“Influence” implies an ability to effect or sway a thing. Mark Sanford is impotent…he has no ability to shape governmental policy in SC…so how can he be influential?
This is just another “insiders” article. These guys all know each other, they drink each other’s each bathwater…hell, Mark Sanford has presided over an administration that what can only be considered a disaster…
