State Representative backs off McCain campaign after they fire her son
You’ve just got to read this one. Hoover asks “readers, any observations?”
Yeah…here’s an observation - GLORIA HASKINS IS PISSED BECAUSE MCCAIN FIRED HER SON.
Does it really take a genius to figure that one out?
For those who don’t know, just a couple weeks back John McCain fired most of his South Carolina field team, including Brian Haskins, because they weren’t getting the job done. Gloria Haskins was one of McCain’s top and most outspoken supporters. Now she suddenly has a “lack of enthusiasm.”
Haskins illustrates McCain’s fadeaway
He’s down in the polls, his Aiken County chairman publicly renounced him, and now one of Arizona Sen. John McCain’s early brand-name Greenville supporters seems, well, not inclined to cheerlead.
I’ll let a conversation with state Rep. Gloria Haskins speak for itself.
“Are you still foursquare behind Sen. McCain?”
Haskins: “Ah…ah….ah….ah…”
“I notice a certain hesitation there.”
Haskins: “Ah…I like Sen. McCain and Cindy very much. They’re good people.”
“So, are you still with Sen. McCain?”
Haskins: “I support Sen. (Lindsey) Graham.”
Haskins’ lack of enthusiasm, to charitably describe it, is even more notable given her closeness to Columbia consultant Richard Quinn who is McCain’s South Carolina primary campaign strategist.
But it’s in keeping with what appears to be McCain’s precipitous decline.
A Mason-Dixon poll released Wednesday had McCain dropping into fifth place in Iowa at just 6 percent, one point behind Mike Huckabee. Last weekend, Mason-Dixon’s South Carolina poll had McCain fourth at 7 percent.
Readers, any observations?

I hate it for the Representative’s son but I’m inclined to agree with Senator McCain’s decision to make changes in his SC staff.

This was so obvious, it was just a matter of time. Once one card in the house folds so does the house (no pun intended). It is just a matter of time until the rest of the legislature scatters like rats off of the sinking ship. I just wonder who will be next?
Only time will tell…

Paul - who’s left to fire, much less who’s next to fire?

McCain’s immigration stance is what took him down, but in my dealings with his political staff, I learned that they are all lazy slugs.
Brian Haskins couldn’t even return a phone call or an email. I have written off McCain and are now leaning equally toward Romney and Thompson.
The only hope I’ve seen in the McCain campaign is that they fired these type bums. I’ve never met Brian, but his laziness tells me that his mother is most likely the reason he got the job in the first place.

Why aren’t there any flyers for mccain or giuliani on this website? oh, that’s right, because the people who run this “news” sight are lobbyists for Tompkins, Thompson, and Sullivan, Mitt’s lobbying firm here in SC. I hope y’all get your news from every completely biased source you can, because this one is leading you on.

What I was referring to in my post was more focused on not people getting fired but people who have endorsed the campaign. Now that Gloria Haskins has left lets watch a large portion of McCain’s other General Assembly supporters bolt sometime before the primary.

Haskins was fired because he’s stupid. And Gloria refuses to believe that her son couldn’t handle the job.

F&B,
We sent our rate card out to all the campaigns and if you haven’t noticed not a lot of campaigns are buying online ads in South Carolina. If any Republican, Democrat, of independent want to put up an ad they are more than welcome to. They just have to pay for it like everybody else.
P.S. Get a life and quit reading and commenting on websites you don’t like.
P.S.S. Do you think the Greenville News is biased? They reported it first.
P.S.S.S. Do you think unbiased news actually exist?
P.S.S.S.S. Is it wrong to have an opinion?

I’ve seen some asinine threads in my day, but this one might just take the cake. I’ve worked closely with Representative Haskins and her son Brian, and both are smart, hard-working, dedicated individuals. Both also support Sen. McCain. The conclusions drawn from this “conversation” are speculative in the extreme.
I can’t help but wonder how many Romney staffers were paid to add their profound political analysis to this vital issue. Heaven forbid we exchange ideas around topics like health care, the war in Iraq, education, and the economy.

Brian Haskins hard-working? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Want to talk issues? Here’s one. The only person worse on immigration than John McCain is Gloria Haskins. You would think that she would appreciate legal immigration given her status but she gets offended everytime someone wants to crack on people crossing our borders illegally.

[...] Just in case that endorsement is not enough, Gloria Haskins was an ardent McCain supporter (and probably still is) up to the time McCain fired her dear little precious Jonser sun for being an incompetent boob (You can read about that HERE). [...]
