Harrell’s Bold Immigration Plan

Today SC Speaker of the House Bobby Harrell unveiled a bold new plan to tackle the illegal immigration problem in the Palmetto state.  Eying the Governor’s Mansion, Harrell knows that he must make his mark on the immigration issue, especially after endorsing Senator John McCain for President, who saw his poll numbers plummet this summer because of his immigration plan. According to the Greenville News, the plan will:

* Allow the State Law Enforcement Division to enforce federal immigration laws on the state level and bill the federal government for the cost of detaining and deporting illegal immigrants.

* Allow the state to deport, at federal government expense, illegal aliens who commit crimes.

* Allow magistrates to consider a person’s immigration status when setting bond.

* Crack down on financial fraud by anyone using bogus immigration documentation for financial gain.

* Make it illegal for any city in the state to become a sanctuary for illegals.

* Deny admission and financial aid for illegal aliens to public colleges.

* Keep illegal aliens from receiving public benefits, other than such things as disaster relief, emergency medical services and domestic violence services.

* Require employers who have public contracts to verify the legal status of their employees through a federal work authorization program.

* Penalize employers who fire a legal worker while retaining a person they know or should know is not legal.

* Make it a felony to harbor an illegal alien.

  1. Peter Paul Says:

So he basically copied the Senate Bill that was passed last year?

  2. All Bobby all the Time Says:

Bobby said to himself. “What other parade can I get out in front of and how many camaras will see me.” He is becoming more fake by the day. He has talented people near him that he will not listen to. After all he is the smartest person in the room. Look for some House members to start rebelling against the “all Bobby all the time” show this year.
