Greenville GOP brings the pain

Well, I guess that would be more like a strongly worded resolution with some finger wagging for emphasis. Either way, according to Dan Hoover at the Greenville News, the Greenville County GOP issued “censures” of Senator Lindsey Graham for his roll in the immigration debacle and to Members of the Greenville Legislative Delegation who participated in the horse trade that resulted in the election of a Democrat to the State Supreme Court.

Of course, censures carry no weight and have little meaning beyond a quick hit in the news, but it is a bold move by the Greenville GOP that could backfire on them should Graham continue his march to being unopposed by any Republican candidate of significant weight. It all seems like a little of grumbling and complaining, but no one is stepping to the plate to actually put their money where their mouth is. Speaking of money, Graham’s sizable campaign chest is probably one of those reasons why no one is stepping up to the plate. In addition, he has been able to maneuver himself back into a good position on the “border security first” movement.

Prediction: Don’t look to see Senator Graham keynoting any County Party Dinners after he wins re-election.
