Consultant Roundup: Taking on Haskins

Oh, how could we forget?
In this week’s Consultant Roundup, we completely forgot about one of South Carolina’s hottest State House races - Haskins v Nanney.
Gloria Haskins won her State House seat when here widely popular husband, Terry Haskins, passed away. But since then Gloria has insulted just about everyone you can insult in Columbia (like her crazy convention rant against Katon Dawson) and took a very vocal stance on illegal immigration that has angered many in her district.
Haskins is being challenged by former Greenville GOP Chairwoman Wendy Nanney who’s father is Bob Taylor, a Dean at Bob Jones University. BJU was always Haskins’ base, but it looks like Nanney will be able to go in and swipe it right out from under her.
As for the consultants:
Gloria Haskins: Haskins is one of the Quinn’s most loyal soldiers. Count on her to stick with them this cycle.
Wendy Nanney: Nanney is tight with Greenville native and BJU grad Mike Green, so she’s going with Starboard.
Keep an eye on this one folks. It will be smoking hot.

It looks like a lot of the SCRG/S.C. Club for Growth types are going with Starboard this cycle. Not that it’s a big surprise, but it’s interesting to watch.

SCRG does their direct mail through Starboard, so it makes sense.

Ms.Haskins has lost touch with her conservative constituents, and I’m afraid it will cost her seat.
