The editorial board at South Carolina’s largest newspaper, The State, will announce their support for Sen. John McCain tomorrow according to the Associated Press. This endorsement comes as absolutely no surprise to the readers of Brad Warthen’s blog, or those closely following the race to the White House in South Carolina. (more…)
Rather than doing a post on every thought I have during the debate I’m going to use this post for my live thread. Stay tuned because this debate is about to kick off… [9:01] Katon does another debate intro video and introduces country singer Calvin Gilmore. Not a bad gig for Katon, and it doesn’t hurt the name ID either. BTW mad props to the SCGOP staff lead by “Boy Wonder” Jay W. Ragley for putting together a great event. (more…)
This one is for the history books. If you would have asked me six months ago about McCain chances of capturing the GOP nomination, I would have said very slim to none. But it looks like I was wrong (in my defense so were a lot of other pundits).
You all know we give Fred Thompson a hard time, but we aren’t a MSM outlet. We are a blog, so we have a little more freedom to do whatever the hell we want.
The Politico on the other hand is a MSM outlet, so they have to be a little more careful as to not influence the outcome of an election. That’s why they’re story this morning about Fred Thompson is just harsh. Jonathan Martin and Mike Allen reported this morning, ELECTION DAY:
Chuck Norris is a legend. His endorsement of Mike Huckabee certainly helped him climb rapidly in the polls. But today Mitt Romney is using Norris’ own words against Mike Huckabee. Citing Norris’ column on the popular conservative news website Worldnetdaily.com, Romney uses the action superstar’s past statements to illustrate why Huckabee is soft on crime.
See for yourself:
Looks like Team Romney just successfully landed a roundhouse kick to Mike Huckabee.
The jokers in the SC blogosphere are trying to rewrite history in an attempt to label Team Romney “negative scumbags.” Over the past week The Governor’s Spokesman, Rick Quinn, and SCHotline’s terrific trio of Mike Green, Adam Piper, and Jeffrey Sewell have been posting articles claiming that Romney’s SC state director Terry Sullivan and consultant Warren Tompkins were responsible for attacks on John McCain in 2000 and Mark Sanford in 2002. Obviously they have a distorted view of history. Here are the facts:
Terry Sullivan was not involved in the Bush 2000 or Peeler 2002 campaigns.
Mike Huckabee spent all day yesterday filming a negative ad bashing Romney after running a ad disavowing negative attacks. The guys starting speak as much “straight talk” as John McCain.
Anyway, after cutting the ad and shipping it to stations, he pulled the ad claiming to have had a change of heart. However, he still showed it to the media because he obviously wants to still get the message out while looking like the good Christian guy who would never say anything negative about another.
