WOW!
WOW!
This past Saturday, Barack Obama made an unscheduled stop during the day of the South Carolina Primary at the Columbia YMCA. He wasn’t there to try to pick up more votes, but rather to just play a few games of basketball.
Jonathan Yarborough, a former Bush 2000 campaign staffer who went on to work at the White House and manage Gresham Barrett’s Congressional campaign, was at the YMCA working out when he noticed Obama playing a game of three-on-three. Curious to see how well the presidential contender played ball, Yarborough went to the other end of the court to just to shoot around and watch. That’s when Barack said in his deep voice, “I want to play some five-on-five.”
Obama then pointed to Yarborough and asked “Do you want to play?”
One of the craziest things we’ve ever seen in college football.
Right now we are sitting in the fair grounds parking lot just stewing over the gamecocks loss. Obviously we are over-rated and we don’t even know where to begin to address our problems.
Actually, we do know where to begin. Our offensive line SUCKS. And quite frankly, Smelly and Mitchell both suck too.
Vandy…seriously? Embarrassing!
In the BCS Standings South Carolina is now ranked 3rd. Is this shaping up a national championship game for the Gamecocks?
It is possible. If the Cocks can pull out wins against Vanderbilt, Tennesee, Arkansas, Florida and Clemson that may the unstoppable formula for the Cocks to be in the game.
The BCS Standings
#1 South Florida
#2 LSU
#3 South Carolina
#4 Kentucky
#5 Ohio State
#5 Arizona State
#7 Boston College
#8 Virgina Tech
#8 Kansas
#10 West Virgina
Team percentages are derived by dividing a team’s actual voting points by a maximum 2850 possible points in the Harris Interactive Poll and 1575 possible points in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
Six computer rankings calculated in inverse points order (25 for #1, 24 for #2, etc.) are used to determine the overall computer component. The best and worst ranking for each team is dropped, and the remaining four are added and divided by 100 (the maximum possible points) to produce a Computer Rankings Percentage. The six computer ranking providers are Anderson & Hester, Richard Billingsley, Colley Matrix, Kenneth Massey, Jeff Sagarin, and Peter Wolfe. Each computer ranking accounts for schedule strength in its formula.
The BCS Average is calculated by averaging the percent totals of the Harris Interactive, USA Today Coaches and Computer polls.
Castrating college football rivals?
Please, no Cocks jokes. This isn’t an USC/Clemson rival. Evidentially a Texas fan tried to rip the balls (seriously) off a Oklahoma fan.
In case you haven’t seen it yet, USC’s upset over UGA not only propelled USC into the top 25, but into the top 20. The AP poll now ranks USC at number 17 while UGA drops to 23. Clemson is now ranked at 20.
In related news…although we are a political website, you are just going to have to put up with our rants about USC and NASCAR. So, we’ve added a new page in the navigation bar called “Sports Bar.” Enjoy!
