The L.A. Lakers will win the NBA Championship, sources tell Shot Politics. These sources also inform us that Kobe Bryant will earn MVP honors for the championship series.
Meanwhile hall-of-fame coach Phil Jackson (who currently has nine NBA Championship trophies) will reportedly continue to coach the Lakers through the playoff, who have improved vastly since the acquisition of Pau Gasol.
The last “Jackson Team” to win an NBA title was the 2002-2002 L.A. Lakers, who defeated the 76ers in five games.
Jackson and the Lakers will certainly have their work cut out for them over the next few weeks. Although the Lakers are well-known inside the “Sports World” of fans, writers, and odds makers, they face major challenges from the Jazz, Spurs or Hornets, and the Boston “Three Party”. And like it or not, their not the team associated with winning NBA titles over the last three years.
Frankly, this might not happen, and if for some reason the Lakers start to lose, we’ll come back here and post another “Exclusive” story about another team winning the championship- kind of like this guy.
Then when the Lakers (or whatever team we substitute for them if they lose) win the NBA Championship we’ll write another post about how much better we are than ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and USAToday because we broke the story first.
After that we’ll probably spend the rest of our day looking in the mirror and writing prose about how f-ing awesome we are because being humble is so last season.
