What did you say Katon? Oh hell no you didn’t!
We have been known to give SCGOP Chairman Katon Dawson a hard time, but its all been in jest. However, all joking goes right out the door when you start talking about our booze.
Mr. Chairman, what the hell are you thinking? No alcohol sales on election day? How else are we going to take that whoopin’ Barack Obama is about to slap down on our butts?
Here’s the blasphemy Katon sent out today:
Say No To Election Day Alcohol Sales!
Dear Friends,This week, legislation will be debated that would repeal a law prohibiting the sale of alcohol on Republican Primary Day and General Election Day. I have heard from many Republican activists like you who have expressed great concern about such a change when none is warranted.
That is why we need to make our voices heard!
Tomorrow, the South Carolina House of Representatives will consider House Bill 4585, a bill that would repeal the prohibition on alcohol sales on Republican Primary Day and General Election Day.
Please ask your state representative to vote NO on House Bill 4585.

Did Dawson really just write that this was an “important issue,” or have I had one longneck too many? Billy Folks is right on…if there’s not sweeping change in Republican leadership, our state is screwed.
