Biggest Breaking News of All Time Ever: SCRG must be run out of Statehouse!
Today The Shot learned that South Carolinians for Responsible Government have been running their shop out of Statehouse offices on the taxpayers’ dime. It seems that Jimmy Merrill wanted to be a little closer to his brother Denver, so he moved Randy Page and crew into the Blatt Building. How do we know? Because SCRG’s phone number is 212-1051. And if you have a 212 number, that means you operate on the state dime.
Okay, not really. We are obviously full of crap. Just like the South Carolina Senate Democratic Caucus (SCSDC).
This morning the SCSDC posted a blog claiming that State Senate candidate Shane Massey is running his fundraising operation out of the Statehouse on the taxpayers’ dime. They cited a 212 number found on a fundraising invitation from
Governor Mark Sanford and Senator Harvey Peeler.
SCSDC must have learned that the 212 number was the South Carolina Senate Republican Caucus, located off the Statehouse grounds, and that anyone can request a 212 number for a small fee. They removed the post shortly after schotline linked to it this morning.
Good job guys! Keep it up and you might just break as many wrong stories as us.

Now, now, now….You’ve got it all wrong. If we were in the Blatt Building, we’d have a 734 number. We’re in the Gressette Building…that’s why we have a 212 number.

Whhoooopppsssss!!!
You would think they would have the good sense to base an attack on a little more factual information than a phone number, like actually catching them operating on State House grounds?
No wonder this didn’t catch fire in the MSM.
You can bet it’ll make it a lot tougher for them to pitch something real the next time.

It isn’t like the right has never gotten it’s facts wrong. Consider the WMDs that were everywhere in Iraq. Or our own states constant presence at the bottom of US norms.
We all make mistakes, so lets not play Holier That Thou.
