Aren’t there any SC blogs without an agenda?

Nope. Guess not.
Let’s be honest. Who, besides our homie Earl Capps, has time to run a successful website and work at the same time? Pretty much no one, which is why SC’s most successful blogs are run by those who can work and blog at the same time.
SCHotline is under Starboard’s control.
FITSNews is the bought and paid for lap dog of the Governor, Tom Davis, SCRG, ReformSC, Carolinians for Reform, and whoever else will pay his bar tab tonight.
Palmetto Scoop is the Quinn’s blog.
And now we’ve learned that the Other Brooks Brothers are actually the boys at newly minted Sandlapper Group. Seriously, who else besides Taft Matney would name their blog after Brooks Brothers.
Sorry for outing ya fellas, but it’s like that.

Wow … thanks for trying to be so nice, but I really do have an agenda … I’m out to find free beer, cheap hookers, and lots of 80s heavy metal albums.
A lot of politically-employed bloggers chose that occupation because they enjoy being able to combine a hobby and their career. So it’s natural that one would want to talk about something they’re interested in.
Just like sports fans talk about sports on their sites. People talk about what they care about. As long as I know who is saying it and what the author’s connections are, I see nothing wrong with having overlapping relationships.
As long as everything’s fair, above board and nobody makes it personal, vicious or false, that’s all that should matter. If we tried to disqualify everyone who worked in politics from blogging about it, things would be awful quiet out there.
Besides, if people believe everything they see online, without a second opinion, then they need to call me. I’ve got this great online source for all natural male enhancement … and for the ladies, herbal breast enhancement pills.
Seriously, dude, I enjoy your site and appreciate it’s contributions to the state’s political blogosphere. Keep up the good work.

When did SC Hotline fall under Starboard’s umbrella?
March 26th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
When Mike Green went to work for Starboard.

Dude - if you’re going to blog, you have a certain responsibility to keep up a standard of quality that you are currently failing to achieve…
…the word in your headline should be “there”, not “their”…
I have no knowledge of the actual subject of the post (other than that “Wilson Charles” of Brooks Brothers fame, whomever he may be, appears to be a very good writer).
March 26th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
Dude - you’re right. The post itself means nothing to our standard. It’s all in the spelling.
March 26th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Their spelling was all my fault. I kept them out late last night drinking.
The shadowy, sinister forces that are really behind my blog were picking up the tab.
(How’s that guys?)

Shot,
Even though there are accuracy issues with this post that I won’t get in to, would you mind fixing the link to TMPR? The address is taftmatney.com.
Thanks, for thinking of me guys.

SChotline under Starboard’s umbrella?
No, no, no, it’s more under the umbrella of the Howard Rich-controlled Faith in the South Carolinian Palmetto Council Group for Reform and Responsible Conservative Growth In The Sound’s umbrella.
