In naming You the 2006 “Person of the Year” Time magazine wrote about the internet “it’s a tool for bringing together the small contributions of millions of people and making them matter.”
Politics has always been about one-on-one communication, networking, and activism. Now its just happening light-years faster.
We live in a new high-speed world. We are communicating and connecting in evolving ways. Technology is empowering the individual to become actively involved in news and politics like never before. You make the news. You are the news.
For us this comes in two steps. First The Shot, then The Chaser.
The Shot is the news. It’s our attempt to give you an unbiased combination of state and national political news from outlets around the county.
The Chaser is what comes next: analysis, discussion, networking, insider tidbits, gossip, and yes…sometimes our biased opinions.
We bring you the news and analysis every morning on our site and in our daily news briefing email “The First Round.” We update you throughout the day as it happens. And we do it all in a way that allows you to become part of our netroots community.
We are here to keep you informed so that you can make a difference. It’s not our business who you support or what party in which you affiliate yourself. We just want you to get involved and have a little fun along the way.

RULES
The posting rules for The Shot and it’s net branches including The Chaser, The Shot’s YouTube page, The Shot’s MySpace Page, and The Shot’s Facebook page are as follows:
No profanity.
No personal attacks on the author or other bloggers.
No harassment of a particular individual.
No impersonations of people, public figures or otherwise.
No disruptive behavior or off-topic remarks for their own sake.
No using The Shot to attack your opposition. If you are on a candidate’s payroll, you will not use this forum to attack your opposition unless you are on the record and speaking on behalf of your candidate. If you do so after the first warning, your comments will be considered on the record and used accordingly.
The purpose of this site is to promote and build a South Carolina netroots community of informed and engaged activists and voters. The proprietors of this site are the sole and final judges and enforcers of this policy. If you break these rules, we will warn you once. Do it again and you will be banned from posting.
