A Few New Websites Worth a Click…
There are a few new websites that I think are worth checking out. Here they are:
www.scstatehouseblog.com
This blog was started by Jonathan Williams, a freshman at the University of South Carolina. In addition to Williams, the website will be staffed by several other USC students. His goal was to start a website that would give legislators an unbiased avenue to get information out, give students at USC (Poli Sci and Journalism majors) a chance to make contacts and get real life experience, and give the public a source for information in layman’s terms. Williams is originally from St. Louis, MO and started his blog by cold calling legislators asking for their participation. It worked, and now the website is up and running with interviews with some of the most influential members in the S.C. State Legislature.
Williams also has a personal blog providing opinion and commentary at www.BlatantReality.com. It’s also worth a click.
One of the major factors behind Ron Paul’s online fundraising numbers was the support he received from independent blogs. While Sen. John McCain has received some level of support from independent candidate websites, McCainnow.com is one of the first website to execute this effective. In addition to basic campaign news and blog entries, McCainnow.com features discussions boards and several online “groups” that intend to help organize state-by-state efforts. This website has the potential to be the next MyManMitt.com, but hopeful with better electoral results.
This website has absolutely nothing to do with politics, but has some of the most hilarious mug shots I’ve ever seen. The website also provides some humorous commentary that accompanies each mug shot. Here is a recent example:
Vanilla Ice was charged with being too cold and beating his wife Thursday. She was probably arguing with him over the differences between Ice Ice Baby and Under Pressure
